Strain Review: Wedding Cake

As I Girl Scout Cookies lover, Wedding Cake fulfills every possible thing I could need in a strain. First off, let's get to the lineage; it's full of strains that I'm absolutely nuts about. Wedding Cake is a cross between Cherry Pie & Girl Scout Cookies. Cherry Pie is the child of Durban Poison, one of the purest sativas on the planet, and OG Kush, the patron strain of our beloved Southern California. Cherry Pie is a cross between Durban Poison (again!) and Grandaddy Purple, another heavy indica and one of my favorite strains from back in the day.

I've been hearing a lot about this strain, and I've been seeing photos of it by some of my favorite cultivators on Instagram. I was delighted to find out that this flower is just as astonishing in person as it has been to see it in HD photos on the internet. I couldn't stop looking at and smelling the nugs. The body of the flower has a dark purple hue with beautiful orange ribbons throughout. The choice nugs come to a pointy tip the way that the tops of best phenotypes of OGs often do.

Even though Wedding Cake reads like a 50/50 hybrid on paper, it's effect is strongly dominated by the indica side of the genetics. It's Oscar's Season so I thought I'd give this strain a try while then give The Shape of Water a spin. I was incredibly satisfied with the strain and I believe that the euphoria that it induced greatly contributed to how much I enjoyed my time watching the movie, maybe more than I enjoyed the actual movie ;). I suggest any time you're in our shop and this strain is on the shelf, pick up at least a gram.
